In this reading group, we will read and discuss books that express a variety of ways to think about, engage with, and encounter Christ today.
Just as there were many understandings of Jesus in the first centuries, so too we are living in a time in which there is a wide variety of images and descriptions of Christ-- God, Rabbi, Messiah, Healer, Personal Savior, Social Justice Activist, Mystic, Wisdom Teacher, Cosmic Christ ... the list goes on. And now other traditions--particularly Buddhist and Hindu- are contributing their perspectives to how we reflect upon and engage with Him.
In this reading group, we will read and discuss books that express a variety of ways to think about, engage with, and encounter Christ today-- within ourselves and in our communities. Our first meeting will be Thursday evening, October 16th, from 7-8:30. Come and let's talk about what we want to read together. The group will meet monthly, on the third Thursday, at the Journey Center.
